Big Shots

I'm fifteen minutes into Big Shots and the critics were right. It's terrible. Not just that, I'm offended. I will say Michael Vartan seems to be playing the most likable character of the four, but he's just not enough to make me stick this out. The entire cast deserves better.

Time to turn on the DVR and watch Ugly Betty.

I hadn't read any reviews and was just excited because of the big name boys, especially MV. Wow, it was baaaaaaaaaaad. Bad editing. Bad storylines. (DM's character was almost proud he got it from a transsexual? And was okay admitting it to his daughter? ::shudder::) Even the dh thought it sucked.

Too bad. I really wanted to like it better than Dirty Sexy Money, but IMO, DSM won the war on the first shot.

(Though part of me that got a little laugh is that both Wendy Moniz and Paige Turco played Dinah Marler on Guilding Light. Ah, Hollywood.)
DSM and 'Big Shots' cannot even be compared. I just don't know how BS even got on the air. I thought the show was targeting women as well as men given the number of attractive actors (and Paul Blackthorne is joining the cast), but with the exception of MV not one of them seemed to have an ounce of respect for women. One's cheating on his wife, one is bad mouthing his, and another is treating women as things to service him. And then MV's character is supposedly in a happy marriage, but, guess what? His wife is screwing his boss! So HE'S the victim. Do the writers have some serious issues with women or what?
Eh, I think they were trying a little too hard to re-create a primetime, male, Sex and the City that would equally appeal to both women and men. And failed. On so many levels. As you pointed out, we haven't really seen anything that makes us even remotely sympathize we these guys (except MV). They are completely over the top, narcissistic, and show an incredible amoral insensitivity.

MV and DM are a little pretty, though.
Big Shots wasn't even on my radar, so I have no idea what I just missed. I know I loved me some Ugly Betty, though. Although I guessed the whole spiel with Hilda and Santos. (didn't mean I didn't tear up, though!)

Sigh.

Is it November yet?
I figured out the Santos/Hilda thing right away. It's a shame, because I was really hoping it was true.

I'm glad Daniel seems to be getting back on track. I wasn't a fan of the drug storyline. And I think the Alexis storyline could be a hoot, but I hope they don't drag it out too long.

Be thankful you missed Big Shots. The show was just offensive to me. Honestly, even if Jamie were one of the stars I don't know that I could watch. It's that bad.
