I'm sad WriSoMiFu is done. I miss the daily checkins already! *sniffles* I began the month with a few goals: Try to finish my current WIP (also known as "Spock Epic"), to post in my journal every day, and to try to get over some lingering shyness I have in writing about sex. Looking back, I did pretty well. I didn't finish the Spock epic, but I wasn't sure I would, and I did make a lot of progress. I posted in my journal all but 3 days. I still haven't put any sex scenes out for public consumption but I did TALK ABOUT IT OPENLY, which was something I wouldn't have done before. I've tended to be a shy journal-writer, but I crave honesty, and each new way that I put myself into my journal this month felt like a little victory over Internet Social Anxiety. When I look at my journal for the past month, I'm in it in a real way, much more than I've been before. Also now I can remember when stuff happened, because I wrote it down. YAY! Final statistics for November 2009, WriSoMiFu:Tea Units for Month of November: 99 units! Days When I Wrote for at Least 10 Minutes: 30 Total Actual Writing: 29 LJ posts, 30 daily checkins, many comments and replies, unquantifiable but satisfying progress on Spock Epic Other Achievements: Learned that I could have comment notifications emailed to me! Posted 2 snippets from Spock Epic without having nervous seizure. Made new friends! Invented emoticon for tentacle porn appreciation: *\\\\o////* New Goals for December 20091. Continue posting daily in journal, even if it's totally boring and trivial 2. Write every day, at least 10 minutes 3. Continue noting daily progress & tea units consumed 4. TRY TO FINISH SPOCK EPIC 5. Try drabbles? 1. Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations, a delightful Star Trek Reboot ficlet that serves as a reminder of what the franchise as a whole kind of forgot: not *all* of the aliens are humanoid. 2. I get up in the morning as late as humanly possible while still having time to shower and get out the door, and that's using skills honed from years of horse shows, where being able to be presentable in two minutes is required. Half an hour to shower, get dressed, make my hair behave, go. That means, of course, that I put my hair up wet. Usually in a ponytail, but sometimes I twist it all back in a bun. Today is one of those days. And it tightens against my head as it dries, obviously, so by this point in the day it hurts just a little bit, just a little tug all over my skull of my hair being pulled back neat and prim and tight, and all I can think about is how good it's going to feel when I get home and take the bands out and let it fall down. It's a not-quite-describable, sweet-sting feeling. 3. You should all feel free to ask me for threes. Like, three things about character X, three places pairing XY would go on vacation, three stories I would write in fandom Z if I had the attention span. :D? (Also welcome: a reason to finish the grad school AU instead of howling FUCK THIS NOISE and deleting the Gdoc. /o\ I am such a child sometimes.) Tags: recs
