And starting tomorrow, we get to talk about new BSG! Wheeeee!!!

Extended cut of ‘Pegasus’  )

I also listened to the new commentary by Moore and Eick for ‘Pegasus’ in preparation for a new season of podcasts which I listen to so you don’t have to. ;)

I’m thinking Ioan Gruffudd could soon rival the six degrees of Kevin Bacon - at least in my world of TV and movie viewing. After viewing Daniel Deronda, I decided to look up the lead, Hugh Dancy, on Imdb. I had recently seen a promo on HBO for the upcoming Elizabeth I, starring Helen Mirren, and caught a glimpse of an actor who looked like this Hugh fella. Sure enough, he plays the Earl of Essex. What then caught my attention was that, amongst his credits, he played Galahad in King Arthur. OK, I just saw that movie again on TV recently and am hard pressed to picture him in it. Of course, I also paid no attention to the sickly guy who tried to off himself in ‘The Duchess on the Devil’ either. ;)

My point in all of this is is here I am watching ‘Deronda’ for Jamie, who is acting opposite Hugh, who would later be in ‘Arthur’ with Ioan, who Jamie starred in ‘Hornblower’ with. Then I think about Ioan working on a film with David Duchovny (another actor I like, shut up). It’s all connected….which makes me think of Buffy….and I’ll stop now.

As for the film ‘Daniel Deronda’  )

And speaking of BSG (If you’re saying ‘No you aren’t’ then you didn’t click on the cut did you? :p), Ms [info]carrielee informs me that James Callis is coming to Dragon*Con! Of course, he said that last year and we know what happened. I’ll forgive him if he actually shows…and brings Jamie.

I was looking at the Sci-Fi site earlier and I noticed that there is a new podcast up. Which struck me as odd since the season is over. It turns out they taped a writers meeting back in July of 2005. I listened to the first couple minutes and the good news is they talk about the back ten so no spoilers unless you haven’t seen all of season 2. The bad news is I only listened to a couple minutes and can’t report on how aggravating Ron may be. ;)

The BSG Hiatus Laura-and-Lee Fixathon: Sign-Ups have begun over at [info]laura_lee_bsg. I mentioned this awhile ago, but let me reiterate, it’s not just for Lee/Laura fans it’s for Lee *and* Laura fans. I quote from the post, </i>The Laura-and-Lee Fixathon is open to shippers as well as folks who like their relationship the gen way, and contributions include stories, graphics and vids. Like a secret gift exchange ficathon-type-thing-only-with-more-than-just-fic-on-offer, see?</i> I have many talented people on my Flist who I’d love to see contribute and I’d hate to think you’re not doing so because you fear having to make them swap spit or other bodily fluids ;p. Heck, [info]brynnmck is signed up and she’s a Lee/Kara shipper! Come on people, join the fun! And please don’t forget I know where some of you live. =)

I also volunteered to be a backup instigator, Mod, whatever for this. Come see me go mad with power!

Hmmmm, what else? Oh, there was ‘Doctor Who’ tonight. Some thoughts on ‘The Unquiet Dead’  )

I’m still trying to come to grips with much of what I saw, but here are some more substantial and coherent thoughts. )

I'll probably have more to say, but I've got seven months to say it.

I need to thank the anonymous LJ folks who bestowed upon me two boxes of candy. You must know me fairly well since you didn’t go with the flowers. ;)

Last night I watched an episode of ‘Stargate: SG-1’. Why? I’m not exactly certain. It was the ep where Daniel Jackson comes back after pursuing other acting opportunitiesascending. (Why am I using his full name? Damn you T’ealc!) Anyway, Daniel comes back with amnesia and the process of regaining his memories begins. Of course, I should have known this wasn’t going to be wrapped up in an hour. More surprising than that though is that I went “Crap” when I saw “To Be Continued”. I’m finding it deeply disturbing that I cared, how this was to be resolved. Unfortunately, since I went shopping immediately after work tonight, I missed the conclusion. [info]danceswithwords now more than ever I await your recaps. I believe you are still in the midst of Corin Nemic forgettable appearance though so I must wait. : (

In happier news, I just finished watching ‘House’ and…..OMG! My fandoms have collided! This warrants a double spoiler warning for both ‘Distractions’ and ‘Battlestar Galactica’ through ‘Black Market’. )

Why is ‘House’ on at 8 pm EST Monday next week? Are we going to be forced to endure two hours of ‘American Idol’ instead?

Oh, where would one find screencaps for this past weeks BSG? I think I need knew a new pic up on my monitor at work and there were a few nice shots of Jamie in that ep. ;-)

Olympic observation: If looks counted in figure skating, this guy from France would definitely medal. :)

As evidence of how much I liked this episode, I believe this is the first time since ‘Flight of the Phoenix’ that I stayed up to watch the repeat showing at 1am and was up until roughly 3am still discussing it (and talking [info]k_julia out of her self-imposed exile from viewing. ;) The episode still had it’s fair share of flaws, but it’s easier to hand wave them when you have a semblance of continuity, actions growing organically from the story, and characters being relatively true to who they are.

I hope this makes sense. I typed it up as I was watching the Golden Globes. Let me just say about the awards...YAY! Hugh! Ryan and Reese are just too cute and must never divorce. And the DH cast pretending to be all lovey-dovey? Puh-leeze. I'm sure Felicity will be real popular on the set tomorrow. Now, on to the show...

In my 2.0 rewatch a few more thoughts occured to me. I haven't viewed 'Pegasus' again yet, I think I'll save that to watch Friday before (YAY!) the continuation airs.

Spoiler warning - anything and everything up to and including 'Flight of the Phoenix'.  )

OK, I didn't know my last post regarding the 2.0 DVDs and 'Pegasus' would elicit such strong reactions and a clamoring for more info. What was I thinking? ;) The reason I didn't post a link to where I found the info before was because it was within a thread discussing the preview for the upcoming eps, hence spoilage for those wanting to know nothing. And while I may discuss spoilage elsewhere, I've tried not to make any mention of it here. But, for the record, I found the information over at [info]sjwashere's LJ. When I took another look at the thread to see if she posted any further information, I found this link to TV Shows on DVD she provided which explains the situation better. (If an annoying pop up box pops up, just keep hitting cancel). My guess is that the two separate sets, at some point, will be packaged together much like the mini and season 1. Since all I have are crappy video copies right now, I'm taking the plunge and buying the DVDs. I'm willing to see if I get burned this one time, but I understand if some of you choose to hold off.

Oh, and I forgot to mention earlier I saw the trailer for the next 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film. Is it July 7th yet?

A new Galactica promo aired during the Stargate marathon last night on Sci-Fi (note to Sci-Fi: as much as I adore Jamie/Lee, you are not going to get me to sit through your other shows for a 30 second spot :p) and it's ALL...ABOUT...LEE. Woo and Hoo! Suffice it to say, there are spoilers, but unless you are spoiled already, no context to put them in. If you are interested, a kind soul has posted the promo Here - go to media, videos, and the Sneak Peek. Oh, and there's a bit of an interview with Jamie included who provides some insight into Lee's mindset in the second half of the season. Plus you get to hear the accent. ;-)

Today I was having a less then spectacular day. There were hormone issues. There were numerous issues with my boss who is beyond clueless in his job (he hasn't bothered to learn who all the attorneys are) and is so self-absorbed he asks us the same questions three and four times a day because he, literally, doesn’t listen to any words unless they come out of his own mouth. All of which led to the headache I currently have.

So, why the squeeing? A month ago I ordered the Battlestar Galactica edition of Starburst, Special 71. It cost me $12. Not bad for ordering a British magazine, but still more than I’d like to spend on a magazine. I arrived home to find in my mailbox a magazine wrapped in grey plastic and, since I don’t have a subscription to any racy magazines, assumed it *finally* had arrived. Let me say people, worth every damn penny. If you can find a copy, grab one. I‘ve only skimmed it thus far, but the pictures are gorgeous (they used the bloody hands! And Lee and Laura! :-). The interviews and articles seem to touch on, for the most part, eps that have already aired in the US. However, there is discussion of one upcoming plot point that, to my knowledge, everyone and their mother seems to know by now.

But, in addition to BSG, there’s a rather lengthy article (again, with great photos) on Serenity, ‘Doctor Who, Then and Now’, an article on ‘Atlantis’ (on visuals as opposed to the characters) and an interview with Brent Spiner discussing Threshhold. I know what I’ll be doing the rest of the week. :)

Now, on to my TV viewing the past two nights…

I just caught Supernatural. Eh. I didn’t find it at all creepy or scary. It also found it to be utterly predictable if you‘ve seen any supernatural horror film over the past few years. And I’m not sure having the two leads be brothers was the best idea.

I’m reserving judgment on Bones for now. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. The opening sequence was incredibly contrived. small spoiler )? The musical choices were bizarre to say the least… another small spoiler ) The “squints” thing annoyed me. On the plus side, David and Emily did have some nice chemistry. I also wasn’t seeing Angel at all. Overall, it just seemed a lot like every other crime drama on the air right now.

Some thoughts on ‘House’ though I don’t seem to be in full analytical mode yet. )

I hadn’t seen any commercials for ‘Serenity’ outside the Sci-Fi channel until ‘House’. That must have cost Universal a pretty penny. I won’t even get into the irony of it airing on FOX.

Two things about Rescue Me. [info]lynnb you were right! Sadly. And if Dennis Leary doesn’t get an Emmy nomination next year I’ll be very, very pissed.
