Did I miss the big announcement that Battlestar Galactica is moving to 9:00 est? Now I knew the season premiere next Friday was at 9:00 because they are airing two episodes. But I just saw something for a future episode and it listed the airtime as 9:00 sooooo I went to take a peak at the Sci-Fi Friday schedule for September and this is what I found: 7:00PM HEROES 8:00 PM DOCTOR WHO 9:00 PM BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (SEASON 3) 10:00 PM THRESHOLD I'm not upset by this move, I think it could be a good thing, but shouldn't this have been advertised more? I can't have been the only one who thought the 9pm airtime next week (Eeeee!!!) was a one time thing. This is a spoiler free zone, but I have to say, after weeks of very little information, I've seen so much today my head is about to explode. :) In the latest edition of spot the BSG actor, I got back-to-back sitings watching Dead Like Me last night. Nicki Clyne as one scary babysitter and Claudette Mink (Shevon - 'Black Market') as a, I'm not sure what to call her, groupie? I'm also contemplating buying this show on DVD. Must look for sales. I fell asleep during Bones, but I DVR'd it! Before dozing, I did catch some very nice glimpses of a half dressed David. I hope someone is making icons. ;) And I think Justice may have lost me. Putting aside the really, *really* bad writing in the first five minutes, I happen to work for a corporate law firm and the way they depicted corporate attorneys was insulting. Sure, there are some, um, well, people I don't care for personally in my firm, but they know how to behave in deposition or a courtroom. Tags: bsg s3 Current Mood: confused

I was going to do a series of separate, smaller posts, but lethargy has resulted in the mega-post. Let’s begin with the TV round up: Psych - I still don’t know how I feel about this show. On the one hand, I like the two leads, particularly Dule Hill as Gus. I love how Gus is so eager to rush to the crime scene as soon as Shawn provides him with a juicy detail, but as soon as they get there and they find either a gruesome discovery or confrontation he’s looking for the nearest bathroom to throw up or passing out. :) The problem is that the cases have been snoozefests and the supporting players bordering on clichés. If the nemesis police detective had a moustache, he may be twirling it. And while I largely like James Roday as Shawn (he’s cute, he’s funny), his exaggerated mannerisms to go along with his ‘visions’ have already begun grating. Nightmares & Dreamscapes: Or when good actors get lousy material. I watched two episodes, was unimpressed, and about to give up when raislak highly recommended the Ron Livingston episode. I found it On Demand and decided to give the series one last chance. I ended up fast-forwarding through half of it. I can only assume Stephen King came up with this idea after seeing Serenity. Life on Mars - My Flist, you did not mislead me on this. I liked it a lot, though no deep thoughts at this point. Dead Like Me - I’ll reiterate, very Wondersfallish (same guy behind them both so no surprise), but the characters are very different so any similarities aren’t really bugging me. Thus far, Roxy is my favorite character. She’s sarcastic, somewhat cynical, and a little bit bitter. Maybe I like her because she reminds me a lot of…me. ;) Mason is cute and has the accent going for him, but my TV boyfriends have to be smart and sexy and how he died killed the smart part. ;p Amazing Screw on Head: I’m not a huge animated series fan but I heard David Hyde Pierce and Paul Giammati were voicing two of the characters so I had to check this one out. OMG, it’s so good! Snappy, intelligent dialogue, cool animation, and did I mention the leads? Definitely check this one out – Sci-Fi, Thursday, 10:30est. So my most recent ‘How Much Did You Spend On This’ purchase (TM my mother) is the audio recording of the BBC adaptation of Brideshead Revisited. When I fangirl, about the only thing that will stop me from buying are the dreaded words “Region 2”. Luckily, CDs are universal so after I discovered that one of Jamie’s radio performances was actually available for listening (the BBC sucks at archiving) I handed over my money to the folks at amazon.com.uk. ( Cut for squeeing and discussion - spoilers if you are not familiar with the book. )Though I haven’t commented much I wanted all you WriterCon attendees to know I’ve been reading all your posts and enjoying your recaps. And pictures! It’s nice to put faces with names of people I have not yet met. Battlestar Galactica 2007 calendar! From the cover it looks as if the images are taken from the mini and season 1, but calendar! :-) Galacticanews provided a link to a transcript provided by tunfaire at captainapollo of Jamie's interview in the lastest official BSG magazine. There be SPOILERS. However, if you skip the second question and answer -"How do you think that year affected Lee as a character?" - and the third question and answer - "How do you think his relationship with his father has been affected?" - there is nothing spoilery and Jamie provides some very interesting insights into his character and the show. My favorite revelation may be he is wearing Grace/Sharon's pregnancy tummy to bulk him up! :) ETA: ( The Stargates! I almost forgot. That should tell you something. ;) )Tags: brideshead_revisited, bsg s3, jamie_bamber, stargate, tv_musings Current Mood: hot

Low: Learned I need to prioritize the hard way (damn you LJ!) and got to the post office next door five minutes after it closed. High: Drove to the one downtown and there was no line. Low: Realized after I mailed one of the packages I forgot to include something. D'Oh! High: At least postage is cheap for mailing a single disc. Low: Went to five different stores and, apparently, my lovely city is only carrying the TV Guide's with 'Lost' and 'Star Trek' on the cover. High: However, I have the August issue of Out magazine. Wheeeeeeee!!! And there is an additional picture in it! More Wheeeeeeee!!! Low: Spent money I shouldn't have. High: Will no longer have to borrow Mom's suitcase because mine is too big and bulky to take on the plane. Low: Apparently the braintrust at Sci-Fi aired a new Season 3 trailer during the 2am showing of BSG. WTF? Because it would have made no sense to air it during the NEW 'Stargates'. :p High: Maureen Ryan of The Chicago Tribune did a nice write up on the upcoming season on BSG. There are spoilers (nothing new to me ;), but if you don't care about those evil things go here. And for the spoilerphobes who, like me, have been dying for some webisode info ( it's under the cut. )Tags: bsg s3, jamie_bamber Current Mood: bouncy

Can I tell you how much I love my job? If you are in doubt, yes, that is a sarcastic question. Let's focus on the positive. Battlestar Galactica Trailer during the premiere of Eureka tonight, 9-11 est. New footage! Woo Hoo! I hope there are at least a couple shots of a newly trimmed down Lee. Otherwise, repeat after me, "It's just padding." Also, Dead Like Me makes it's Sci-Fi debut at 7 est. I haven't seen it before, but given some of the recs on my Flist I figured I'd check it out. anglophileangel, now aware of my fondness for Ioan, sent me This Link of an interview with he, David Duchovny, and Jake Kasden regarding their new film, The TV Set. David and Jake do most of the talking and Ioan looks to be in desperate need of a haircut. Jamie can grow his hair out sweetie, you cannot. I should be on my way to work, but then I recalled that the BSGers were at The Museum of Television and Radio event last night and I *had* to look for reports. I even went to the TWOP site! So far, not much info accept they showed a Season 3 preview clip that, duh, contains spoilage. Now, on Monday, the MTR site will have a webcast of the event posted. Personally, I hope they include the preview clip, but maybe they won't. For you spoiler phobes, if you want to wait a day to hear if it's safe to watch, I shall let you know. blondeheroine posted this link to the trailer for Hugh Jackman's next film, Scoop. I want to see this film *now*. Not only is there a lot of shirtless goodness, but Woody Allen appears to be funny and not chasing after women a third of his age.
