Entertainment Weekly's latest cover is Battlestar Galactica! Wheeee!!! I think this perhaps as much as anything else could help draw in viewers. The one bad part about the article (not counting the incorrect spelling of names and some questionable fact checking) is that it has spoilers. The first paragraph alone mentions things that, by my calculation, will not occur until the middle of the season. I was going to do a spoiler free post, but wisteria_ hasn't beaten me to the punch. I've decided to once in awhile deviate from the regularly schedule sarcasm, bitterness, cynicism, and BSG blatherings. Ok, I confess, I can't really get away from that last one. ;-)

I was trolling the Sci-Fi board today (yes, I know, there in lies disaster) and found news that the BSG Official Magazine has printed it's last issue. While disappointed that the show won't have a magazine on the racks along with 'Buffy' and 'Star Wars' I have to say the content was always outdated and severely lacking and I can now save $7. I'm much happier spending $10 and getting the pretty pictures and revealing interviews Starburst provides.

Discovered that Starbuck's makes pretty good hot chocolate and *really* good low fat blueberry coffeecake.

I've been having a great chat on my last post with beccatoria regarding 'Black Market'. She has some fascinating thoughts on how it could be viewed and I may now be able to rationalize it's existence. Lurkers you need to come out and talk to me more! You make bad episodes better!

Today or yesterday, depending on when and how you look at it, is/was the birthday of the one and only the_royal_anna. I can use the term "one and only" because while I have many dear, sweet, wonderful friends she is unique among them. I don't think I've ever seen her complain, I mean really complain, about anything. And who else still hand writes (with the coolest penmanship ever) six page letters? She has a generosity of spirit and talent for prose I wish I had. I hope you had a great day Anna. :)

It amuses me that Grey's Anatomy is viding their own show now.

DVRs are so cool! I could record twelve hours of SG1, but, of course, Sci-Fi has changed their schedule.

Many, many hi-res BSG Season 3 promo pics courtesy of drewcypher. I have to say, as much as I love Lee/Jamie I find his facial expression in his solo pic highly amusing. Also some of the poses seem rather odd. On the brightside, it's nice to see some of the supporting cast get recognition and the air brushing isn't horrific. :)

In 'They Say It's Your Birthday' News, Happy Birthday! to a great Vancouver tour guide pukajen and one of the sweetest piggies I know (she gets it ;) jennipher. I hop you great gals have great days. :)

I think I cursed SG-1. Seriously. *Just* as I start getting into the show, look what happens? The signs were all there today. First, I'm talking to my mom about the show and how I'm catching up. Then I get home to watch the 6pm ep that I taped only to discover I taped an hour of the Comcast screen saver (I have NO idea how that happened). Finally, with a few minutes to kill I hop on line and discover the show has been canceled. Which totally distracted me from the premiere of Prison Break. (Yet, I was still able to follow it so what does that say about that show? They did surprise me with one thing though, but I shall say no more since I don't want to bother with a cut tag. ;)

I'm not really so much bummed that SG-1 got canceled, (hey, they had ten years) but that it will no longer provide a relatively mindless, light hearted counterpart to the BSG angst and that the Sci-Fi monkeys couldn't have chosen a better time to do it. They have a mid-season break coming up, would it have killed them to wait? Doing it right after the 200th episode does show a lack of class. Yet this is the same network that is trying very hard to get BSG out there to a wider audience. Then again, they own part of that show.

In addition to Prison Break, I watched Vanished and it was...OK. It seemed more than a little over wrought and Rebecca Gayheart continues to show she doesn't know the meaning of the word subtle. But it wasn't horrible so unless something better premieres at 9pm est I'll probably continue to watch. For the time being.

At lunch today, I went to the bookstore and picked up the September Maxim with THE pictures in it. Silly me didn't realize that the scans 'cut' some of the images in half so it was a thrill to see the photos as they are meant to be seen. All the guys together? Wow. And Jamie in leather sitting in the Raptor? Guh.

Also picked up the latest EW with House/Hugh Laurie on the cover. Yes, I have a subscription but you think I could wait? Surprisingly, no spoilers unless you haven't seen the second season finale. Mostly it was a recap of how Hugh got the role and why the show is as popular as it is. Nice shot of the entire cast accept Lisa's head looks disproportionately large.

Before I get to that I have to point to some OMG Incredible pictures of the BSG cast in the latest issue of Maxim. syliasyliasylia has kindly posted scans of the pics HERE. I had no idea it was going to be so much of the cast and they all look amazing. The picture of Jamie and Tahmoh almost made my head explode. I love Tricia's hair and James, I don't know if he has ever looked better. I am not crazy about Katee's look, but I'm sure others will appreciate it. ;)

So, I did watch more Stargate this afternoon. Shut up danceswithwords. I took in, amongst some episodes I recorded, 'Prometheus' and 'Unnatural Selection'. ( Brief thoughts, possible spoilers. )
