I had hoped to get back to a more frequent posting routine. That doesn't seem to be going well at the moment. Honestly, I don't have a lot to say about TV this week. I still haven't watched Law & Order: UK. But the April 6th episode will be the end of series 1 which means no new Jamie for awhile and no need for me to rush to catch up. While thirteen episodes have been filmed, ITV seem to be following in the tradition of U.S. cable outlets and splitting the series/season. Brief (Really!) thoughts on a few other shows: ( ER: And in the end... )( Chuck: The One with Tricia Helfer )( Castle: Hell Hath No Fury )( Life on Mars ) The Mentalist was just too cracktastic to even discuss this week. Season 2 of 'Pushing Daisies' comes to DVD July 21st. And the final three episodes will air in the UK before the DVD's are even released here. Anyone interested in rewatching Farscape? Then join farscaperewatch! The rewatching commences this Sunday, April 5th. There has been a lot of debate and discussion about the Battlestar Galactica finale. I was feeling a little overwhelmed by it all so I've been limiting myself to a couple of posts each day. One of the major topics of discussion at the moment is the role of women on BSG and the fates of those women. I had a bunch of links saved to share, but siljamus has kindly collected them in her post here. Whether you agree with the posts or not, it's some thought provoking reading. Just as with the finale, I find myself somewhere in the middle of the debates. I still need to listen to the final two podcasts, but I'm torn. Part of me wants to jump ahead to 'Daybreak', the other part of me, the more orderly part, feels I should listen in order which means 'Islanded in a Stream of Stars' comes next. So, I'm going to leave it to you all to decide. Poll #1377215 Podcast Poll

I still haven't watched this week's Law & Order: UK. I'm a bad Jamie fan! In my defense I wasn't home Monday or Tuesday night, Wednesday night I was exhausted for some unknown reason and pretty much dozed on the couch until it was time to go to bed, and last night there was other TV to watch. At this point, I'm considering saving it until tomorrow so I'll have something lighter to watch after what I am sure will be another emotionally draining episode of BSG. I'm coming close to breaking up with Chuck. If Season 3 is going to involve watching Chuck and Sarah run around in relationship circles than I'll have no issue with NBC axing it. I really shouldn't be surprised by the turn the show has taken. After all, Josh Schwartz seemed to think people actually cared about Ryan and Marissa. ( House: The One From Two Weeks Ago )( Burn Notice: Lesser Evil )To any Leverage fans living in or around Portland, be on the look out for Tim Hutton, Christian Kane, and the rest of the cast - Season 2 is being filmed in your city. Mark Verheiden posted his regular Friday, This Week On BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.... he doesn't post anything spoilery, but I'll put his synopsis and my thoughts (in parenthesis) ( under a cut, just in case. )And, finally, sabaceanbabe put together an AWESOME and very funny Lee/Laura vidlet for my birthday, 'Tell the Girl'. Take a minute out of your lives and check it out. ;-) Tags: battlestar galactica s4.5, burn notice, chuck, house, leverage Current Mood: working

Was anyone else disappointed in last night's Chuck? Half way through I began to think I should have watched House instead. That's about the same time I gave up trying to use the 3D glasses which didn't work well and hurt my eyes. But my main problem was the actual plot. Chuck has a far fetched premise that, by and large, they've been able to make somewhat believable. But how Tyler was being used by the bad guys left me going, "Seriously???" And the B Plot seemed pointless, if occasionally funny. And I tried watching Heroes again. The episode was certainly an improvement over the last time I checked in on the series. Unfortunately, I was utterly confused as to who some of these people were and what was going on. Anyone know of a good source to catch up on the important plot points? I really don't want to watch the episodes I've missed. Via dryope, 'Life' star Sarah Shahi is pregnant. The article talks of plans the show has to accommodate her pregnancy. It may be considered spoilery to some. Over at the SciFi forum, Sighunter/Marcel, who runs Leah Cairns website, had a chance to speak to her about last week's episode and she had some interesting information about her role in the episode. ( Skip this if you you have not yet seen 'The Oath'. )I'm not linking the thread since it seems to have degraded into character bashing. :/ My state, Michigan, is opening a movie studio. Unfortunately, it's not anywhere near me, but I'm sure productions will pop up all around the state now. Carrie Fisher has started a blog. And she seems to be committed to the project. Of course, she just started it recently so we'll see if the frequent posting lasts. Highly entertaining, as her writing usually is. This is my favorite part of an entry she wrote about hosting, along with Colleen Camp and Ewan McGregor, a party for the film Milk: There were two recurring themes at this party. One of them was Star Wars, given that two of the three party hosts had appeared in three episodes each. For those of you living in the middle of the Sahara Desert without any access to media, I played Princess Leia in the first trilogy and Ewan played Obi Wan Kenobi in the second—-and though we rumbled around in our oh, so, different trilogies, we’re ultimately part of the same Intergalactic family. And if you have been living in the middle of the Sahara Desert, what drove to you this website? We've lived radically different lives and I wouldn't dare compare my writing skills to hers, but the tone and sarcasm sounded so much like me! It's odd sometimes the people you can feel a connection to. (And I mean that in a non-creepy way ;). Tags: battlestar galactica s4.5, bsg, chuck Current Mood: working

I hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving Day. I took the opportunity to sleep in late, after falling asleep as soon as Pushing Daisies ended, which meant I slept for almost thirteen hours. Eep! I’m assuming I needed that much sleep for some reason. And I didn’t get online at all yesterday, deciding to take a little break from the interwebs and figuring you’d all be too busy to post. You failed me people! :p I do have to share a little pre-Thanksgiving Day story with you all. One of my co-workers had a birthday this week, I baked cookie bars, and, as we sat around eating them Wednesday morning (yes, morning, it’s how we roll), another co-worker decided she wanted us to share what we were doing for Turkey Day. At this point, another coworker cut her off, stating, no, it’s Thanksgiving Day and chastised her for calling it Turkey Day. Seems she’s tired of people forgetting the "true meaning of the holiday". So, thinking she was about to turn this into a religious holiday, I said, “You mean that we came here, stole the land, and slaughtered the indigenous people?” Let’s just say there was a moment of silence after my comment. :) I’m a wee bit behind in my TV comments, but if anyone is still interested in my two cents: ( Why I must ask if the writers of ‘The Mentalist’ are on crack. )( I’m not sure what the ‘House’ writers are thinking either. )For some TV I really, really enjoyed! ( TSCC: Strange Things Happen at the One Two Point )( Chuck versus the Gravitron )NBC has announced it's Midseason schedule...and it sucks. Howie Do it? Seriously??? On the Brightside, I have time to catch up on DVD viewing and my BSG rewatch. Tags: chuck, house, the mentalist, tscc Current Mood: hungry

Thanks to a coworker who came into work sick last Tuesday, stayed for three hours, long enough to contaminate people, then went home because she was too sick to work, I’ve been battling a cold all weekend. Thanks to large doses of Vitamin C and Zinc it’s hasn’t turned into a full blown, ‘Kill me now’, cold. I did have a dry cough last night, which I actually suspect was allergy related since I had my windows open. I ended up getting two hours of sleep, yet I'm not exhausted now. WTFrak? I did manage to hang with friends for a several hours on Saturday. We continued our streak of interesting restaurant experiences. It was good that our waitress was cute and sweet because she was painfully lacking in the brains department. I mean, if you hand someone two credit cards and one has a female name and the other a male name, why would you ask which one is mine? O_o I also have caught up on TV.
