I need to thank the anonymous LJ folks who bestowed upon me two boxes of candy. You must know me fairly well since you didn’t go with the flowers. ;) Last night I watched an episode of ‘Stargate: SG-1’. Why? I’m not exactly certain. It was the ep where Daniel Jackson comes back after pursuing other acting opportunitiesascending. (Why am I using his full name? Damn you T’ealc!) Anyway, Daniel comes back with amnesia and the process of regaining his memories begins. Of course, I should have known this wasn’t going to be wrapped up in an hour. More surprising than that though is that I went “Crap” when I saw “To Be Continued”. I’m finding it deeply disturbing that I cared, how this was to be resolved. Unfortunately, since I went shopping immediately after work tonight, I missed the conclusion. danceswithwords now more than ever I await your recaps. I believe you are still in the midst of Corin Nemic forgettable appearance though so I must wait. : ( In happier news, I just finished watching ‘House’ and…..OMG! My fandoms have collided! This warrants a ( double spoiler warning for both ‘Distractions’ and ‘Battlestar Galactica’ through ‘Black Market’. )Why is ‘House’ on at 8 pm EST Monday next week? Are we going to be forced to endure two hours of ‘American Idol’ instead? Oh, where would one find screencaps for this past weeks BSG? I think I need knew a new pic up on my monitor at work and there were a few nice shots of Jamie in that ep. ;-) Olympic observation: If looks counted in figure skating, this guy from France would definitely medal. :) Tags: battlestar galactica s2, house s2 Current Mood: shocked

( My mother tells me the episode name was ‘Humpty Dumpty’, I hope she was right..... ) In other TV news….OK, I’m sorry, I tried really, really hard to like Veronica Mars. But, I just don’t care about any of the characters and if I don’t care about the characters, well, that’s it for me. (Forgive me writteninstars. : ( So, I guess Lost wins my attention by default. Though, should the second ep of the season already have filler? Tomorrow night Alias premieres. I don’t think I’ll be watching. I’ll tape it and if you all tell me it’s worth a go, I shall watch. Otherwise, I hand wave the last 30 seconds of last season and end it there. Before you think I’m giving up on everything, I’m still liking Invasion. ( spoilery thought )Tags: house s2 Current Mood: pleased

Today I was having a less then spectacular day. There were hormone issues. There were numerous issues with my boss who is beyond clueless in his job (he hasn't bothered to learn who all the attorneys are) and is so self-absorbed he asks us the same questions three and four times a day because he, literally, doesn’t listen to any words unless they come out of his own mouth. All of which led to the headache I currently have. So, why the squeeing? A month ago I ordered the Battlestar Galactica edition of Starburst, Special 71. It cost me $12. Not bad for ordering a British magazine, but still more than I’d like to spend on a magazine. I arrived home to find in my mailbox a magazine wrapped in grey plastic and, since I don’t have a subscription to any racy magazines, assumed it *finally* had arrived. Let me say people, worth every damn penny. If you can find a copy, grab one. I‘ve only skimmed it thus far, but the pictures are gorgeous (they used the bloody hands! And Lee and Laura! :-). The interviews and articles seem to touch on, for the most part, eps that have already aired in the US. However, there is discussion of one upcoming plot point that, to my knowledge, everyone and their mother seems to know by now. But, in addition to BSG, there’s a rather lengthy article (again, with great photos) on Serenity, ‘Doctor Who, Then and Now’, an article on ‘Atlantis’ (on visuals as opposed to the characters) and an interview with Brent Spiner discussing Threshhold. I know what I’ll be doing the rest of the week. :) Now, on to my TV viewing the past two nights… I just caught Supernatural. Eh. I didn’t find it at all creepy or scary. It also found it to be utterly predictable if you‘ve seen any supernatural horror film over the past few years. And I’m not sure having the two leads be brothers was the best idea. I’m reserving judgment on Bones for now. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. The opening sequence was incredibly contrived. ( small spoiler )? The musical choices were bizarre to say the least… ( another small spoiler ) The “squints” thing annoyed me. On the plus side, David and Emily did have some nice chemistry. I also wasn’t seeing Angel at all. Overall, it just seemed a lot like every other crime drama on the air right now. ( Some thoughts on ‘House’ though I don’t seem to be in full analytical mode yet. )I hadn’t seen any commercials for ‘Serenity’ outside the Sci-Fi channel until ‘House’. That must have cost Universal a pretty penny. I won’t even get into the irony of it airing on FOX. Two things about Rescue Me. lynnb you were right! Sadly. And if Dennis Leary doesn’t get an Emmy nomination next year I’ll be very, very pissed. Tags: battlestar galactica s2, house s2 Current Mood: giddy
