I'm going to take the opportunity to once again gratuitously pimp [info]bamber_news. Posted more to die over pictures of Jamie and a newish (it was actually done in July at Shore Leave) interview at Gateworld.

The latter I'm reposting here since I think there are crazy people interested in Lee Adama and/or the show, but not Jamie. Since the interview was done some time ago it can now be considered spoiler free. You can read 'Man of Duty' here. Or you can listen to the interview via a direct link or MP3 download.

I found this question and answer particularly interesting:

Interviewer: If you could do anything for Lee -- any episode, no getting permission from the boss, dream set, no budget, do anything -- what would be the ultimate fantasy? What would you like to do for Lee?

JB: Um, I would like him to make a huge, huge miscalculation. A huge mistake. To really screw up in a major way. That cost people their lives and for him to have to deal with it. I like it when ... what our show really does do is problamatize heroism. All the archetypes we think characters are going to be.

Of all the characters, I think Lee is the most conscious, conscience-driven, and he tries to do the right thing at all times and he thinks about his actions. I think it would be great to have him think he's doing the right thing but to do something that really, really, really screws up and costs lives, real lives, and to see how he deals with it

I am not so secretly hoping this may spark some fic ideas. ;-)

And since I'm on a BSG high with one hell of an episode last week, hope the show is back on track, and pretty, pretty new pictures of Jamie this week I debated mentioning the ratings situation. Apparently the show dropped again last week. I'm torn on being concerned. Sci-Fi did opt to air the show in the fall and move it to a tougher time slot. And I'd be curious to know how at the ratings for the numerous other airings are. Then there are other avenues of viewing. Two weeks ago it was second only to 'Lost' in downloads on itunes. I do think seperating the Gates fro BSG was a bad idea. I know I stuck around to watch 'Atlantis' simply because it was sandwiched between SG1 and BSG. And I'm sure some 'Stargate' fans were casual fans of BSG. I just wish the networks still didn't look to Nielson ratings since they obviously have not stayed up to speed with the evolving entertainment industry.

Early this morning I saw [info]wisteria_ post a link to video footage of a photo shoot/interview with Jamie Bamber at the TV Guide site (Thank You!). Jamie Bamber Photo Shoot. Scroll about three quarters of the way down the page to find the link.

I just finished watching it and I HIGHLY recommend checking this out if you are a fan (and FYI, surprisingly, he does not talk about spoilers beyond the season finale). Cut for recap and fangirl squeeing which I should be embarrassed about, but am not. )

Btw, anyone know of a way to copy/save the footage? If I can’t right click/save I’m lost.

Many of you (I think) are aware that the current issue of Sci-Fi Magazine (yes, [info]hockeyvaughnfan, I picked you up a copy ;) contains a Q&A with the cast of BSG with questions submitted by the fans. But what some of you may not know (I didn't) is that the full Q&A sessions are posted over at the Sci-Fi website. While I'm sure many stupid questions got tossed aside by the whoever was in charge of this, I was none the less surprised by the quality of the questions that were posed. Maybe Con experiences have tainted my view of fan's questioning skills. ;) And, yes, Jamie made me love him even more with the depth and breadth of his answers. I did not know he was responsible for a key component of Lee's backstory. Nor that the 'chanting' Lee does to psyche himself up/calm himself down in tense situations was his creation.

In order to read all the Q&A's without having to go to various pages and reading white on black text which hurts my eyes, I copied and pasted it all into Word. Then I thought, 'Hey, why not post it here to save you the grief too?' Also, I trimmed out what I considered spoilage. This means either vague references to upcoming events where you may be able to draw a conclusion (if you haven't seen any of Season 2, you may wish to skip this all together) or, in one case, something even I didn't know and I am spoiled. :p Oh, and [info]danceswithwords, the computer networking issue was addressed by a fan. I'm not sure you'll like Ron's answer, but at least it's not just us. ;)

The (almost) complete Q&A's - cut because it's my longest post ever! )

The Bamber Playgirl interview is available for perusing! [info]danceswithwords posted this link. How much do I love her? It’s far too short, but Jamie was asked some surprisingly intelligent questions and gave some very good answers. And, thank you!, no TMI. The one disappointing thing is they recycled BSG promo shots. No, I didn’t want to see naked, but I would have liked some new photos.

A few observations, one referring to ‘Home’ so if you haven’t seen Season 2 yet, don’t read! )

I watched the final installment of ‘The Triangle’. Between reading the Bamber interview and my headache, I have to admit I wasn’t paying close attention, but there seemed to be *a lot* of plot holes.

I picked up a new ink cartridge for my printer tonight and Woo Hoo! discovered the printing problems the other night were just the fault of the old cartridge. Goal for this weekend will be getting cards printed and packages packaged.

The lovely, generous, and equally obsessive [info]wickedgillie provided me with a link last night to a video interview with Jamie posted over at the BBC site. The interview can be found here. There are no spoilers (the interview was done while filming Season 1). Still, there are some interesting tidbits including how he came to play Apollo, his thoughts on the character, and the complexities involved in Lee and Kara's relationship. Plus, he looks darn cute. ;)
