Desperate Housewives and Lynette's Children

I don't think the writers intended this, but the one mystery on Desperate Housewives that is consuming my thoughts while watching the show is the ever decreasing size of Lynette's family. Now, in the pilot she stated that she had been pregnant three times in four years. I thought that was odd since her eldest looked older than four. But, soon after we were told that the twins were 6. Then her youngest son mysteriously disappeared two weeks ago. Now, her infant daughter is MIA.

Oh, and Zach? That kid is terrifying the hell out of me.

I only half-watched Desperate Housewives last night, but I did notice that Lynette's family seems to be shrinking. How could the writers have forgotten that she had two other children? And if they haven't forgotten, where the heck are the kids?

Zack is Cree. Pee. I do like Bree's attempts to befriend him though, because it makes her seem more human.
Another problem I have with the suddenly missing children is that while I am quite sure two over-active twin boys are a real handful, Lynette's exhaustion, frustration, and desperation was more understandable when she was dealing with three wild boys and a crying baby. I just not as sympathetic to her plight now.

I agree, her genuine attempts to reach out to him (and, boy, didn't the story about her mother's death help to explain something about her) were very humanizing. It ticked me off a bit when she ditched Zach to spend time with her hubby. Though, in fairness, I'm not sure she fully understood until the break-in how deep Zach's despair was.

They're on the Island looking for water and polar bears.
Hmm. Is Desperate Housewives fiction? I thought it was fact!!!!
