Special thanks to Bill Shakespeare who can sum up Alexander far better than I. Of course, Luke Skywalker said it well too when he proclaimed "What a piece of junk".

I actually felt sorry for all the actors involved in this monatonous, over blown, ill concevied mess and I don't even care much for Colin Farrell. The actors at least tried to make as much as the could out of a lousy script. I mean, if you are seeing a biopic shouldn't you learn *something* about the person the film is about? What knowledge I left the theatre with, I entered the theatre with.

Oh, why was he this great leader who managed to control 90% of the known world? He was pushed to succeed by his parents and well educated. Really Oliver? If that was all it took we'd have dictators popping up on every other street corner trying to take over the world. Some more insight would have been nice. As well as more than one tiny example of his military expertise.

And what of Alexander's bisexuality? Yes, they did address it, but the way they did so made it some huge issue when, in fact, during that era it was no big deal.

I could go on and on, but why torture us both.

I'll credit danceswithwords with this since hers was the last LJ I saw it on...

If there is at least one person in your life who you consider a close friend, and who you would not have met without being part of an online fandom, post this sentence in your journal.
