Next, I must declare my love for sdwolfpup who not once, but twice saved my LJ from the brink of blahness. Due to LJ's fixing (insert sarcasm here) of supposedly bad code, many component style users (like me) lost their headers the other day. My knowledge of html code extends to how to do a cut tag and italics, so did I know how to get my pretty picture of Jamie back? Nooooo. And that made me very sad. Not to mention, in a weird way, I felt as if I had part of my identity stripped away. So SDW to the rescue! She fixed it yesterday afternoon. Then when I got home last night I decided to make one simple alteration to put my links back at the top of the page. Checking one little box won't do anything major, right? Wrong. It completely stripped the code she had inserted. Grrrrr. Luckily, she's very forgiving about my incompetence when it comes to this tech stuff and she put everything right again. Now I'm not touching anything...ever...again.
In happier news, today is the birthday of another one of my bestest buddies. I know she hates a lot of fuss made about her, so I'll spare her the megasize scrolling wishes for something a little less splashy. She also doesn't do compliments well (in this I can empathize with her), but is that going to stop me? No. ;) HAPPY BIRTHDAY! danceswithwords. Other than her Lee/Kara hang up, she has many fine qualities. She's incredibly bright, thoughtful, funny, self-deprecating, and doesn't make my posts seem quite so long-winded. ;) And she's watching the eight previous seasons of Stargate so I don't have to. It's been an absolute joy getting to know her and hang out with her and hopefully stalk Sci-Fi Friday actors with her in the near future. If I don't 'see' you tonight, I'll understand if you put birthday festivities ahead of the shows...this time.
