Asta 2

Feeling much calmer now

As poor writteninstars can attest to, I was in quite a tizzy on Thursday. And this was an all day affair beginning with e-mails, moving on to a very lengthy (and entertaining) phone call, PM's, and then LJ replys until I finally managed to collapse into bed around Midnight.

I won't rehash all the events for the sake of my own tenuous hold on sanity. But, I have come to some conclusions.

Angel will be the only Joss Whedon show in town next season and I've got to figure out how spoiled I want to be. With changes happening (no worries people, I won't be discussing them) how much information do I want to know? I do wish to know how the season is to begin, to see how Joss has decided to deal with some issues, but beyond that I'm not sure. Maybe what happens in the season premier will determine that for me. I guess it just depends if Joss is going to rip out my guts amd twist them in knots again.

Now, I did make an actual decision earlier in the week regarding just where I go for information regarding the show and discussion of it. For me, personally, The Big Bad Board has increasingly lived up to it's name. Yeah, I love Spike too, but not to the detriment of the other characters or writers. It's just not fun anymore. Most of my friends wised up long ago, realized it wasn't worth the battles, and moved on. And it shows. The depth and breadth of discussion just ain't there anymore. It's a chore for me to even post now.

Now, don't believe this means I won't be at the board anymore. I'm not giving up chat or perusing the safe haven caille has set up in fanfic or the relative calm of the OT areas. I just don't plan on commenting on either Buffy or Angel there anytime in the forseeable future. I'll continue to post my thoughts here, of course, for anyone who cares to read them. And I've begun looking at other boards where people are actually *gasp* civil and open minded.

But, for all the grief there of late, I am entirely grateful for it's existence. Without the BBB I would never have met Crystal, Lynn, Cindy, Chris, Caspy, Jonesie, Dubs, Aia, Scarlett, Hope, Gypsy, GG, Sal, Caille, and if I missed anyone my apologies and a thousand tongue lashings which jonesiexxx will happily apply. :)

Oh, and before you feel neglected Jackie, I technically met you through Crystal first. :p

I can't believe I'm recommending this movie

Maybe it's the fact I got eleven hours of sleep last night. Maybe it's the fact I didn't have to spend hours cleaning my apartment on the weekend like I usually do. Maybe it's because the laundry is all not begging to be folded for once. Or Maybe it's because I had no expectations and I was only trying to be nice to my friend Stacey's hubby who always agrees to go see what we want and deserves a break.

But, much to my surprise, I enjoyed The Italian Job. Now, maybe the original is better - I haven't seen it. But, this came off as fairly smartly written, no plot holes that I can recall, well acted, entertaining little film. In addition to some pretty cool, but not overdone action sequences, there was some actual *gasp* character development. The entire cast had a nice chemistry. And for us Buffy fans we get to see Seth Green in a movie that doesn't suck or go straight to video! Actually, Seth had one of the best running jokes in the film. :)

So, if your looking for a movie with a good cast and involving story that doesn't tax your brain but doesn't treat you like an idiot either, I'd say it's worth two hours of your time.

Oh, and I've decided. While London is my dream spot to visit, Italy is now second on my list. :)
