Asta 2

The Weekend in Review

First off, my warning for the day....Do not, I repeat DO NOT, buy red satin pajamas from Victorias Secret. I've washed them five times now and the color is still coming off on my rather expensive cream colored sheets. Thank God for color safe bleach. I have no clue what to so with them. While they are comfy, I'm not about to go washing my sheets everyday.

Saw The Hulk yesterday and found it to be better than expected but not great. Way too much backstory leading up to the appearance of the Hulk. I'm all for intelligent film adaptions of comic book characters and I appreciate knowing the who, how, when, where and why involved in these type of stories, yet it just seemed rather tedious and meandering in the film. I won't go into details for those who haven't seen it, but a couple of times I just wanted to say "OK, I get it already, now move on".

The CGI Hulk was a bit distracting in spots. I understand why they had to go the CGI route, but when the rest of the movie is based in reality in can seem awkward. Though, on close ups, the Hulk's facial expressions were amazingly life like, you really felt for the big lug.

wisteria_ already made mention of this in her journal, but when the Hell did the Hulk gain the ability to jump miles in one leap? At one point they had it appear as if he was flying through the air. I don't recall this as ever being part of the comic canon.

Today's exciting events included trying to find some new shoes for work and failing miserably. It does appear that I'll have to resort yet again to ordering online.

Also attempted to find the current SFX which is filled with Buffy goodness I hear. Doesn't seem to be available in my area currently and even when it is Barnes & Noble can be a bit hit and miss getting it in.

Wound up my afternoon off by picking up some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and heading to my Mom's to finish putting her DVD shelving units together. I think she finally got "No, I don't need your help" when I threatened her with the hammer. For a sixty year old with arthritis she can move fast when she wants to.

Oh, and for those interested mrmonkeybottoms has a new gem The Wacky Adventures of Buffy and Spikebot, the sequel to The Wacky Adventures of Spike and Buffybot. They can both be found at her site mrmonkeybottoms fic. I loooove the bot and her characterization is absolutely perfect - cute, sweet, and funny. of course she does amazing stuff with the other characters too and there is much funny, smutty spuffy to enjoy. :)
