Asta 2

The Day After

The subject line is unecessarily bleak, yet seems somehow appropriate.

First off, people, why do so many of you insist on having birthdays around the holidays? It was quite inconsiderate of your parents. Today (though I think it's now tomorrow in her little part of the world) is the birthday of multi fandom friend, icon maker extraordinaire, not to mention one heck of a swell gal, _jems_. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope you had a good one filled with great prezzies. You deserve it.

As I thought may happen, my mother canceled on me due to her arthritis flairing up so I opted to make a solo trek to the theatre to see The Incredibles. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, it didn't seem to wow me as Pixar's previous efforts have. I can't put my finger on what it was exactly. Perhaps it was too adult oriented?

Most of the previews were pretty kick ass. Robots looks like it could be fun. Chicken Little had myself and several others laughing out loud just from the brief clip. And then there was the trailer for Episode III. Damn you George for getting my hopes up again. The volcanic planet? Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting each other? The rise of Darth Vader!?!? How could I not be geeked? But, if I'm let down again, action figures may be sacrificed. >:(

Other than that, I did a wee bit of post Christmas shopping, but late in the day so the store wasn't very crowded. Now I must prepare to face work again tomorrow. ::weeps::
