Why Dragon*Con is Giving Me A Headache and I'm Not Even There Yet

Well, first, the good news. Apparently, the Trek Trak blinked and the 'Galactica' panel has been shifted to 10:00am Sunday. Which means, YAY!, no conflict with the Firefly panel on Friday.

The bad news is I still don't have a flight. However, before you get on my case, it appears it's a good thing I did procrastinate. Northwest (the cheapest airfare) and Delta (the direct flight) are both filing for bankruptcy by September 1. Airports are already preparing for the fallout. So, hello to my old friend Continental who's not billions of dollars in the red.

I found several viable flights out on Thursday, but coming back on Sunday they only have early flights. Not just because of Jamie, but because I'm sure they'll have other good stuff scheduled that day I've decided to fly out Monday. For the first time I was hoping to find a flight out in the wee hours of the morning. Thus far, 8:00am seems to be my best bet. Either I'll get a cheap room at a hotel for Sunday night and maybe stay later or perhaps just hang out at the aiport. I'm figuring since I'll be staying over I'll be up late anyway hanging out with folks anyway, so what's a few additional hours at the airport? Now, to bring the laptop or not bring the laptop...

OK, I just saw over at the Sci-Fi website that three new Highlander films are in development to explore the origins of the Immortals and to star Adrian Paul. Now, I haven't seen Adrian recently, but, um, immortals supposedly don't age and isn't he starting to look older? Which is one problem I had with the last film (other than it was total crap) with Christopher Lambert's presence. This all just screams 'direct to video'.

(no subject)

So, in my continued effort to placate writteninstars see what all the fuss is about with Veronica Mars, I watched again tonight. What's considered the worst ep of the season? Tonight was 'Veronica and Betty' and I was bored throughout. No Logan. Icky romance. And a parrot. For those not in the know, the romance and parrot are unrelated.

I successfully taped 'Horatio Hornblower' earlier today. Due to work and travel aggrevations, I wasn't really in the mood to watch it tonight. I did catch the last half hour as it finshed taping. Now, in that Jamie looked twelve. ;) And I am much amused by the flirtation between Horatio and the very attractive, older Duchess. I'm only hoping the whole parole thing isn't the only thing Ron Moore borrowed from these films. Thursday and Friday, 'Mutiny' and 'Retribution' are being shown. I think I'll save them all for a weekend marathon.
