Asta 2

So, I watched Whistler at 9 instead of SG-1 since it gets repeated at 11. Because Whistler ended early I caught the end of SG-1 plus the promo for next week. Now I'm wondering if I saw what I think I saw in the promo. JOHN AND AERYN?!?!?! Ok, I know I saw someone playing Stark. But there was a really quick clip of what looked to be Ben in the red leather vest and what looked to be Claudia in black. I already knew there were to be 'tributes' to several classic series and movies including 'Farscape' but I wasn't certain they'd go that far. Now I'll have to record the promo later to do the frame by frame advance.

OK, upon further review, it is definitely Claudia as Aeryn, but I think it might be Michael as John. So maybe it's Ben as Stark? It all should be very interesting.

Speaking of Whistler, tonights ep featured Kandyse McClure *and* Donnelly Rhodes. And from the 'Andromeda' front we have Brandy Ledford and Steve Bacic. From the very little I saw of that show I could safely say that both actors (along with most of the cast) sucked and blew. Well Steve, who also recently appeared on 'Psych', apparently can act and Brandy isn't terrible. This leads me to believe that I can justly lay blame for all the badness of 'Andromeda' at Sorbo's feet. It also explains how these two are working and Sorbo is doing the James Marsters cruise thing.

Edited because I got my answer...I think.

I missed the Farscape shout-out from the clips, but next week sounds like a hoot.

Yes, all your badness Andromeda badness belongs to Sorbo. I liked the first season or so. It had some good arcs, and I liked that Beka was a little older than most sci-fi female leads and was still quite tough.

Then Sorbo decided that the show was 'too hard to follow', dumbed it down to primarily stand-alone episodes, and it began to suck most mightily. The guy who played Tyr left the show at that point, saying he didn't see much point in 'trying for mediocrity'.
Don't lay Andromeda's problems at Sorbo's feet. It rests with teh two production companies (Tribune and Fireworks) who messed teh show up. The writer's assistant (Jill Sherwin) from the first two seasons of Drom self-published a massive 500 page book on Andromeda (Saling The Slipstream) that details all the problems with the production and all the changes over the five seasons. I hear it is a good book.
When an actor leaves a sci-fi show to return to soaps because they are more challenging that tells you something. :/
