But Bionic Woman? Really? Do we even think that's going to do anything? Anything at all? It has the girl that is NOT Lauren Lee Smith but could be her double in it. If it had been LLS? I might have watched it, but now I just await the fallout of Isiah calling the non-lls something... fun. Maybe he grabs her ass or tells her that her boobs look better on a twelve year old? One can only hope. HA!
Bionic Woman has gotten a lot of buzz, mostly positive, so there was no need for (awful) stunt casting. I'll be curious to see if there is a lot of backlash over this decision.
Yuck. Couldn't he go work for a show that I WASN'T planning on watching?
He did not quite two seasons of Chicago Hope before wanting out. He did two seasons of Deal Like Me and that show was cancelled, but he probably would have wanted out. My mother says he also has a habit of announcing concert tours and then deciding after a handful of performances he's tired of doing it. So, yeah, I'd say the Criminal Minds situation seals his rep.
When the incident on the GA set first happened and I read the stories of what occurred I cringed and I was sad at his vulgarity and stupidity and physical violence against Patrick Dempsey, but I didn't automatically think he would or should be fired. It was his behavior after that, the changing stories, the lying, and them ultimately trying to portray himself as a victim and TR Knight as some master manipulator that showed me this guy had to have his ass kicked to the curb. He just never got what he did was at all wrong. And I felt that the ONLY way he *might* learn a lesson is to suffer professionally, but it seems that that hope is gone.
I'm honestly a little shocked he got hired again so quickly after all the controversy. And I don't even mean his blatant homophobia so much as how he's proven to be difficult on the set and a publicity nightmare. There are certainly actors out there who are just as talented and aren't carrying this kind of baggage around with them, so why would NBC hire him?
Apparently NBC believes that bad publicity is as good as good publicity. I'm hoping they find out they are wrong. I did expect the man to work again and I had no wish to see him broke and living out of his car, but it's barely been a month, he's being praised for his work and were just suppose to forget about everything else.

David Eick has spent the last four years working on BSG with a great group of actors who all get along because there are no big egos and, as far as I know, no small minded assholes. I hope David has a rude awakening with this decision.

This was exactly my thought too. While the one incident was ugly enough, it was part of a bigger pattern; it seems like hiring him is buying trouble.
I'll be real curious to see any on set gossip for the show. The cast is largely made up of newbies and those DE has worked with before and DE is used to a certain sort of working environment. I can see Isaiah coming in as the star (in his mind) of GA and thinking he can walk all over people. He is only signed for five eps right now, apparently, so maybe they'll rid themselves of him after that.
People have said and done a whole lot worse than Washington and not been touched by it. Gibson hasn't lost work. Eddie Murphy, Hugh Grant, Justin Timberlake, R. Kelly, the list goes on.

I could go on a rant and talk about how women are the ones punished for their indiscretions, while men get a free pass, but that would be wrong :)
I have to admit if Isaiah got caught with a hooker I'd have much less of an issue with him. R Kelly do not get me started on that. It sickens me that that guy is walking around free. And I honestly don't wish Isaiah to never work again becuase I don't see what purpose that would serve. But let him sit unemployed for awhile to learn that, at the very least, he can't be a prima donna on set who can say anything or do anything he damn well pleases. And What really offended me is the comments, joking comments even, about how this great actor became available. Yes, for making a homophobic slur *and* physically attacking a coworker. Both of which would have gotten the average Joe or Josephine fired on the spot from their job. I like Katee Sackoff, but part of me hopes that this show, in a tough time slot, gets slaughtered and the new head of NBC stops laughing.
"I have to admit if Isaiah got caught with a hooker I'd have much less of an issue with him."

Eh, men engaging in prostitution are using capitalism and patriarchy to commit rape. I think rape is 100x worse than saying "bad stuff."
Glad to know I'm not the only who had that reaction.
I was looking forward to TBW, but I don't think I can stomach it now...at least not until Washington has made an earnest apology and stops trying pawn off the blame for his bigotry on other people.
