Since It's Been Awhile Since I've Gone Against Popular Opinion...

When I got home from work today I watched Sharon Osbourne. Having read my Flist before seeing the show, I had heard that James and GotR had improved. Here's where the disagreeing comes in. ;)

Suffice it to say, my opinion has note changed. Maybe, *maybe* James sounded a little bit better, but I still wasn't wowed. Forgetting the music industry as a whole for a moment and just comparing him to his fellow Buffy/Angel musicians, Kane and Common Rotation blow GotR out of the water.

As for the interview, that was fun. My only wish is that the man would buy some new clothes! I kept envisioning him in a nice pair of slacks, jacket, and dress shoes thinking how wonderful and sophisticated he could look. Psst, James, you're over 40 now.

Now, four things about The O.C. that don't require cut tags:

1) Seth, Summer, and Ryan make a very cute threesome. No, not in *that* way. :p

2) Which just goes to prove that Marissa is unecessary and can DIE.

3) Love the Vegas.

4) "He paid off your pimps and your hos." MUWAHAHAHA. Now, there's a line you don't here everyday.

And a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to the wonderful dkellergrl. I don't think I've ever mentioned how glad I am to have come to know you through LJ. I thoroughly enjoy your updates about what's going on in and around NY - you make eager to get back there as soon as I can. Hope you are having a great celebration in Toronto. :)

See, now, I wasn't comparing them to other bands. I was only comparing them to their own past performances (and their first CD). And I thought they sounded MUCH better. But comparing them to Kane? That's just no fair.
I'm suppose to be fair? That's no fun. ;p

So, you've heard Kane? Did you like them? I wish they were releasing new material. I think I'm wearing out my one CD.
I haven't seen them, but I have their CD. I like it and listen to it quite a bit, which is saying a lot considering a generally can't stand country.

I keep hoping they'll work Oklahoma into their tour some time, which doesn't seem too far-fetched, considering he used to live here and all.

Right there with you. I always maintained that I hated country, yet, I loved the CD the first time I listened to it. I think it's because it's not strictly country. As Christian has said, he's too rock and roll for Nashville and too country for LA.

I think that Kane may be considering going on tour in the future. I'll cross my fingers that he makes it your way. :)

Maybe he needs to go on "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"? :) Alas, I missed the Osbourne appearance. Anyway, how do you know Kane is better? You haven't seen them yet!! :)
LOL. I was just discussing with some friends last night that there needs to be a celebrity Queer Eye and James nneds to be on it. ;)

As for Kane, while I have not seen them perform, I have listened to their CD about a hundred times and love, love, love it. :) I doubt that I will be disappointed once I see them in person.
Yeah, I really need to get Kane's cd one of these days...hmmm. I wanna get the live Common Ro ones, too.
I loved the Vegas too. And you are so right about how Marissa Must. Go. And that dumbass pregnancy storyline too. I mean, please! I was staring at Therera thinking "I liked her better as an insane slayer."
